New Delhi. Imli ka bhoota, berry ka ped, tamarind khatti, meethe ber, is jungle me hum do sher... This song from the film Saudagar (1991) was filmed on two legendary actors of Hindi cinema Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar. Apart from these two, actors like Anupam Kher, Amrish Puri, Manisha Koirala, Vivek Mushran and Mukesh Khanna were present in this movie of director Subhash Ghai.

Today in Hit Films, Superhit Stories, we are going to tell you an interesting anecdote related to the sets of Saudagar, when Mukesh Khanna changed the name of his driver because of Dilip Kumar.

Mukesh Khanna was nervous on the set

The shooting of the movie Saudagar was going on in the valleys of Kullu Manali. The entire team including the director of the movie was present on the set. Mukesh Khanna was also there, then Dilip Kumar sahab entered the shooting set. He was such a great artist that everyone would stand up in his honour, Mukesh also did the same along with everyone else.

Dilip sahab sat on his chair and started discussing the script. Then Mukesh's makeup artist called his driver, 'Hey Dilip' and then suddenly pressed his tongue. Because Dilip Kumar was present there. Seeing this, Mukesh Khanna got nervous and he thought that the driver's name is also Dilip and the person sitting in front of him is a legend of Hindi cinema. His name is also Dilip Kumar.
On seeing this, Mukesh immediately reprimanded his makeup artist and later told his driver that now you should change your name from Dilip to Babu. In this way, Mukesh Khanna had to change his driver's name because of Dilip Kumar. Mukesh has given this information in a video present on his YouTube channel Bhishma International.

It was difficult to handle Raj Kumar and Dilip Kumar

In this video, Mukesh Khanna has also informed that it was very difficult to handle Dilip Kumar and Raj Kumar on the sets of Saudagar, because both of them had a fight for supremacy so that they could look better than each other on the big screen

It was a great challenge for director Subhash Ghai to cast these two together and make a great film like Saudagar. But despite this, Saudagar was made and became a success due to Dilip and Raj's jugalbandi. Let us tell you that after 32 years of the 1959 film Paigam, the pair of these two actors returned together.

Mukesh Khanna played this character

In the film Saudagar, Mukesh Khanna played the role of Gagan, son of Dada Veer (Dilip Kumar). While Raj Kumar played the role of Rajeshwar.
