Those arrested included Rashtriya Prajatantra Party general secretary Dhawal Shamsher Rana and party central member Ravindra Mishra. The protest turned violent when the movement's convenor Durga Prasai broke security barricades and moved towards the Parliament building.
Apil Bohara, police superintendent of Kathmandu District Police Range, said Prasai is still absconding. Authorities lifted the curfew in the eastern part of Kathmandu on Saturday after tensions eased. According to NI, former Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has accused former King Gyanendra Shah of inciting violence on Friday.

Dahal, who visited the vandalised office of the Socialist Front on Saturday morning, also called on the government to limit the freedom given to the former king. Dahal said it has become clear that Gyanendra Shah is behind all these acts.
He said, 'Shah's intentions are not right. This has been seen before and is being seen now too. The time has come for the government to take strict action.' Dahal accused the government of lack of preparation to deal with the pro-monarchy protests.
