Moradabad News: In Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, the Anti Corruption Team arrested a head constable from inside the police station while taking a bribe of 15 thousand, while the inspector managed to escape by dodging the team. It is alleged that the inspector had demanded a bribe of 40 thousand from the victim to remove the names of his sons from the case. The deal was done for 20 thousand and the inspector had already taken 5 thousand rupees.
The matter of taking bribe openly in the police station has created a stir in the department. This case is of Bilari police station where the anti-corruption team arrested the head constable red-handed while taking bribe in the police station. Meanwhile, the inspector absconded after getting the opportunity.
Head constable arrested while taking bribe
Anti Corruption Bureau Moradabad unit CO Mohammad Fazil Siddiqui said that the case is of Bilari police station. The victim told him that a fake report has been filed against him in the police station in which the names of his two sons have also been included. He has informed the investigating sub-inspector Ravi Prakash about the truth. It is alleged that a bribe of Rs 20,000 was demanded in exchange for removing his name from the report.
The accused sub-inspector had already taken a bribe of five thousand rupees and was demanding 15 thousand rupees more. On this information, CO Fazil Siddiqui formed a team of Inspector Shailendra Singh, Sukhveer Singh, Naval Marwah, Head Constable Satish Kumar, Krishnapal, Constable Atul etc. and started the investigation.
Taking advantage of the situation, the inspector absconded.
On Monday evening, the team reached Bilari police station with the victim where he gave a bribe of 15 thousand to Sub Inspector Ravi Prakash and Head Constable Kaushal Kumar. The team present on the spot arrested both of them red handed. Meanwhile, there was chaos in the police station and the inspector Ravi Prakash escaped by dodging the team.
The CO said that efforts are being made to arrest the inspector by alerting the district police. Two employees of the District Magistrate's office were also present with the anti-corruption team as witnesses. He said that a corruption report has been filed against both the inspector and the head constable. Head constable Kaushal Kumar has been arrested. While the inspector Ravi Prakash is absconding.
