According to sources in the Kerala Health Department, the person's condition is stable and he is undergoing treatment in the hospital.

A person who returned to Kerala from Dubai was found infected with monkeypox

Earlier, a person who returned to Kerala from Dubai was found infected with monkeypox. The 38-year-old man is undergoing treatment in Malappuram district. On September 9, the first monkeypox patient was confirmed in the country. The Union Health Ministry had said that a person who returned from abroad was kept in isolation on September 8 on suspicion of monkeypox.

The central government has issued an advisory

The Union Health Ministry has issued an advisory to the states to curb the monkeypox cases. The central government has said that the states should take health action to prevent monkeypox cases from coming to the fore. At the same time, all states should review the preparations of their health facilities.

The World Health Organization declared monkeypox a global public health emergency on August 14. This is the second time in two years that WHO has declared a health emergency regarding monkeypox. The first case of Covid-19 in the country was also reported in Kerala.
