According to the Vedic calendar, Mauni Amavasya will begin on January 28. Whereas, it will end on January 29. In Sanatan Dharma, calculation is done from Udaya Tithi. Hence, Mauni Amavasya will be celebrated on January 29. Mauni Amavasya will begin on January 28 at 07:35 pm and will end on January 29 at 06:05 pm. Sadhaks can worship Lord Shiva on January 29 by taking bath and meditating at the time as per their convenience.

 

Shravana Nakshatra

 

If we believe the astrologers, then after many years, the conjunction of Shravan Nakshatra is happening on Mauni Amavasya. Taking a bath in the Ganga in this conjunction brings great merit. This conjunction is happening from 08:20 in the morning. Before this, there is a conjunction of Uttarashadha Nakshatra. Astrologers consider Shravan Nakshatra to be very auspicious for bathing, meditation, worship, chanting, penance and charity.
