Shivaratri fast is considered one of the most important and fruitful fasts in Hinduism. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Shivaratri festival is celebrated four times, out of which are Nitya Shivaratri, Masik Shivaratri, Magh Shivaratri and Maha Shivaratri. Out of these, Masik Shivaratri is celebrated on Chaturdashi or fourteenth day of every month according to the traditional Hindu calendar, which holds great importance in Sanatan Dharma, as it symbolizes the union of Shiva and Shakti.
