The stock market has seen a rise this week. This is the second consecutive week when the market has closed in the green. During the week, the major indexes remained in the green but their gain was less than one percent. However, midcap and smallcap witnessed a bullish trend during this period. Foreign investors continued to sell this week as well. Currently, the Sensex is above 79,800 and the Nifty is above 24100 levels.
How was the week's trading?
This week, the Sensex closed at 79802.8 with a gain of 686 points i.e. 0.86 percent. On the other hand, the Nifty closed at 24131 with a gain of 0.93 percent i.e. 224 points. Even though the market closed with gains for two consecutive weeks, but in the month of November, the Sensex closed down by 0.5 percent and the Nifty by 0.3 percent. BSE Midcap rose 2.3 percent, Smallcap by 5 percent and Largecap by 1.6 percent. The Media Index rose 5.5 percent, PSU Bank Index by 4.7 percent, Oil and Gas Index by 4 percent, Energy Index by 2.6 percent during this period. On the other hand, the Nifty Auto and IT Sector Index fell by half a percent each. During the week, FIIs sold equity worth Rs 5026.77 crore. On the other hand, domestic investors bought equity worth Rs 6925 crore. Where did investors earn? During the week, more than 100 stocks saw a gain of 10 percent or more. Out of this, 40 stocks rose by more than 15 percent. 9 stocks saw a gain of more than 20 percent. The top gainers include Ashapura Minechem (39.56 percent), Man Infra (28.87 percent), Jai Corp (23.02 percent), Bliss GVS Pharma (22.97 percent), Bharat Dynamics (22.82 percent).
