The two militants, identified as Leishangthem Napoleon Meitei (35) and Thokchom Amujao Singh (33), were arrested from Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai on Sunday, a police official said. Three mobile phones and 12 demand notes were seized from their possession, he said.
Arms and ammunition seized
Meanwhile, security forces seized arms and ammunition during search operations in Churachandpur and Tengnoupal districts, a police statement said. An INSAS rifle, a 9 mm pistol and a single barrel rifle were seized in Muallam village of Churachandpur district on Saturday, it said.
It said a 303 rifle, a 12 bore single barrel gun, seven improvised explosive devices, five hand grenades and detonators were seized from Saivom village in Tengnoupal district on Friday.
Recovery was also made on 13 December
Earlier, security forces in Manipur recovered a device with a Starlink logo along with sniper rifles, pistols, grenades and other weapons during a search operation from Imphal East district. This recovery was made from Imphal East on 13 December.
Five IEDs recovered
The Indian Army and Manipur Police also recovered five IEDs weighing 21.5 kg from several places in Imphal East district in a joint operation.
