Chennai: At least three people were killed in a fire at a paint factory in the Kakkalur Industrial Estate in Tiruvallur district neighbouring Tamil Nadu capital Chennai, police said on Friday.
According to police, the deceased were workers in a paint and thinner factory. One of them suffered serious head injuries when a portion of the shed collapsed in the fire and he succumbed to his injuries while being taken to hospital, police said.
The injured were admitted
A senior police official said four people were admitted to the Tiruvallur Government Hospital in an injured condition. According to an official of the Fire and Rescue Services Department, the fire broke out this evening and two fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
