Islamabad: A major attack has taken place at a coal mine in Balochistan, Pakistan. Armed men attacked the coal mine. So far 20 people have been reported dead. The incident took place in the Duki area of ​​Balochistan in the early hours of Friday. Armed men attacked the mines of Junaid Coal Company located here.

Police officer Humayun Khan said that heavily armed men attacked the mine in the early hours of Friday. During this time, the mine was also attacked with rockets and grenades. According to Dr. Johar Khan Shadizai, so far 20 dead bodies and six injured have been brought to the district hospital.

Attack on Chinese citizens

Just a few days ago, on 6 October, i.e. Sunday night, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) attacked Chinese citizens near Karachi International Airport. Three people, including two Chinese citizens, were killed in this suicide attack. 17 others were injured. BLA itself took responsibility for the attack. After the attack, China called back its 400 citizens from Pakistan. At the same time, pressure was put on the Pakistan government to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and Chinese projects.

The demand for a separate Balochistan has been going on since 1948

The campaign to separate Balochistan from Pakistan has been going on since 1948. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) demands independence at gunpoint. This separatist group targets the army and many other projects in Balochistan and other parts of Pakistan. In recent times, the group has opened a front against the Chinese project and the citizens there. BLA alleges that China is looting the resources of Balochistan in collusion with the Pakistan government.

When did BLA attack this year?

25-26 August: BLA carried out a major terrorist attack in Balochistan. A total of 38 people lost their lives in this. Police station and railway line were targeted.

May 2024: Extremists shot dead seven people from Pakistan's Punjab province.

April 2024: Armed men attack a bus. Nine people are killed after kidnapping them.

March 2024: On March 25, BLA separatists attacked Pakistan's Turbat naval base. One soldier was killed in this.

On March 20, BLA attacked Gwadar port. Two soldiers lost their lives in the attack. Eight separatists were killed.
