If you have any respiratory disease like asthma or you are not suffering from any disease at the moment but are addicted to smoking, then let us tell you that you are at a higher risk of problems caused by heat. The air stops flowing due to the increase in temperature, due to which pollutants remain trapped in the air, which can trigger asthma. Asthma patients may have to face the most problems due to heat and humidity. The risk of respiratory infection increases in this season. The metabolic rate of the body starts increasing. In such a situation, there is a lot of load on the lungs. Very cold or heat causes swelling in the respiratory tubes. In extreme temperatures, these tubes become dry and swollen, due to which they become very sensitive. In such a situation, if the patient also gets heat stroke, then the problem increases.

Cough, phlegm, chest tightness, shortness of breath can be signs of asthma.

Lung patients should keep these things in mind

  • Patients of CPOD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) should use influenza or pneumococcal vaccine after consulting a doctor .
  • Wherever you stay, maintain the temperature of that place, so that the body remains at a constant temperature.
  • Do not go out in strong sunlight and during the day between 10 am to 4 pm.

  • Drink adequate amount of water. Apart from water , also take ORS, fruit juice and coconut water .
  • Make sure to take out time for exercise even if it is for a short while. Avoid exercises that are too tiring. 
  • Avoid going out in the hot sun immediately after coming out of the AC.
  • Walking is best for staying fit. 
  • If you have a viral infection, always wear a mask.
