Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Friday said its board has approved a borrowing proposal of Rs 12,000 crore. "The board of the company has approved long-term borrowing up to Rs 12,000 crore, which may include external commercial borrowing, term loans, non-convertible debentures or any other instrument," L&T said in an exchange filing.

Apart from this, the board in its meeting also approved the appointment of Subramanyam Sarma, Whole Time Director and President of Energy Department, as Deputy Managing Director and President of the company from April 2, 2025 to February 3, 2028. The board also approved the re-appointment of S. V. Desai as Whole Time Director of the company from July 11, 2025 to July 4, 2030.

Apart from this, the appointment of T. Madhav Das as Whole Time Director of the company for a period of five years from July 11, 2025 was also approved. Share performance On Friday, the company's stock closed at Rs 3,415.05 with a gain of 1.91 per cent. In the last one year, the company's stock has seen a decline of 5.60 per cent.
