Many important issues were discussed in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Demands like inclusion of Bhojpuri language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution, ban on obscene content on social media and OTT platforms, selling tea in kulhar in trains were raised.
Different demands of MPs
- During the Zero Hour in the House, Samajwadi Party (SP) member from Salempur, Uttar Pradesh, Ramashankar Rajbhar said that Bhojpuri language is spoken in eight countries of the world and it is a language spoken in every household of Purvanchal. He demanded from the government that this language should be included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
- Anil Ferozia, BJP MP from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, demanded that tea be sold in Kulhad (earthen pots) at railway stations and trains. He said that this would benefit the pottery makers.
- Shiv Sena's Naresh Mhaske demanded the government to censor programmes on social media and OTT platforms in the backdrop of objectionable comments by social media influencer Ranveer Allahabadia.
- Manish Jaiswal, BJP MP from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand, requested the central government to intervene, alleging stone pelting during Saraswati Puja and stopping of Ram Navami procession in some parts of the state. He said, "The central government should take action on the atrocities being committed against Hindus in Jharkhand."
- Congress MP from Sasaram Manoj Kumar, referring to the recent incident of assault on him, claimed that his life was in danger from some criminal elements and demanded security for him.
- Congress's Gurjeet Singh Aujla referred to the accidents caused by Chinese Manjha in the country and demanded a ban on its import from China, its production in the country and its sale.
- SP's Anand Bhadoria claimed that in his area the administration tries to create hurdles in organizing Buddha Katha. He said that like Bhagwat Katha, permission should not be required for organizing Buddha Katha.
- Chandrasekhar of Azad Samaj Party also demanded from the government that people who believe in Sant Kabir, Guru Ravidas and Gautam Buddha should be allowed to organize religious activities related to them.
- Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Waikar demanded opening of a central university for Marathi studies in Mumbai.
