Jindal Steel And Power Ltd informed after market close on Thursday that Jindal Steel and Power has been declared the successful bidder for the Sardhapur Jalatap East coal block. Sardhapur Jalatap East coal block has a total of 3,257 metric tonnes of geological resources. The company said in an exchange filing that India's leading steel company Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) has signed an agreement for the Sardhapur Jalatap East coal block.

The company said that this mine is strategically located about 11 km from Angul Steel Plant, which has a total of 3,257 million tonnes of geological resources. The company has been declared the highest bidder with revenue sharing. Jindal Steel and Power is the flagship company of Jindal Group, an industrial powerhouse with a strong presence in the steel, power, mining and infrastructure sectors globally. Share performance The company's stock closed 1.47 per cent higher at Rs 913.10 on Thursday. In the last one year, the company's stock has seen a rise of 9.60 per cent.
