A 31-year-old Indian national in the US has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for sexually abusing several children through an internet media app. Indian national Sai Kumar Kurremula was living in Oklahoma on an immigrant visa. He used to pose as a teenager to win the trust of children. If the children refused his requests, he used to threaten and extort them through child pornography.
In sentencing, US District Judge Charles Goodwin said these crimes were among the most serious crimes society could consider. Kurremula inflicted trauma on the victims that would haunt them for the rest of their lives. The lengthy prison sentence reflects that trauma.
Last year there was an allegation of sexual abuse
Kurremula was accused of sexual abuse in April last year. Kurremula admitted to sexually abusing three minor victims. He threatened one minor that he would go to her house and show her obscene pictures to her parents. He threatened the second victim that he would come to her house and shoot her family and threatened the third that he would post her obscene pictures publicly.
