India established a historic healthcare transformation which focuses on establishing Universal Health Coverage delivery across the nation by 2030. During his World Health Day speech Prime Minister Narendra Modi established an ambitious plan to ensure medical care affordability remains a basic right for every resident of India. The government implements this initiative within an overall scheme to strengthen public health facilities and minimize healthcare costs borne by individuals.

Key Features of UHC:

All Indian citizens from every social and economic background gain complete access to fundamental medical services as well as surgical procedures and diagnostic tests and medication and preventive health services under this new program. The project will reach its objectives through joint public-private sector alliances together with insurance structures coupled with government healthcare support.

The health insurance coverage expansion by the government will prioritize serving rural residents as well as elderly and disadvantaged communities specifically. The program has an established five-year timeline which will lead to complete rollout by 2030.
