New Delhi. Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murty has narrated an interesting anecdote about a phone conversation with former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The Rajya Sabha MP has shared a video clip on her X handle, in which she is explaining why the former President had called.

It is noteworthy that when Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam called, he thought that this call was not for him but for his husband and Infosys founder Narayan Murty

When Kalam sahab called Sudha Murthy

The video clip has a picture of Sudha Murthy and APJ Abdul Kalam and their recorded voices in the background. In the video recording, Sudha Murthy says, "One day I got a call saying that Abdul Kalam wants to talk to you. I told him that this is a wrong number, because I had nothing to do with Abdul Kalam. So I thought that the call had come to me by mistake."

Sudha Murthy further said, "I told the operator, this call could be for Narayan Murthy. You have contacted Mrs. Murthy instead of Mr. Murthy. Then the operator told Sudha Murthy, no, no Dr. Abdul Kalam has specifically asked to talk to Mrs. Murthy."

What did Dr Kalam say in the conversation?

Sudha Murthy then said that she got upset and started wondering what she had done that Abdul Kalam called her. When the two talked on the phone, APJ Abdul Kalam told her that he had read her column on the IT divide. Dr Kalam also said that the column was excellent and he reads her article whenever it is published.

Actually Sudha Murthy had written in her column that she had gone to buy a fruit for 100 rupees per kg. Later, one of her students, who was a software engineer in Infosys, bought the same fruit from the same shopkeeper for 200 rupees.

Seeing this, Sudha Murthy asked the shopkeeper why there is so much difference? The shopkeeper explained that you are a school teacher. You cannot understand, whereas she is an IT person who works in Infosys. That is why it is ₹ 200 for her. Sudha Murthy said that Abdul Kalam laughed a lot after reading this line.
