Shimla: The spark of protest that started against illegal construction in Sanjauli Mosque in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh has now spread across the state. Today, Hindu society is protesting on the streets in entire Himachal Pradesh. According to reports, protests are being held in all district headquarters including Shimla. Hindu organizations are so angry about the Sanjauli Mosque dispute that there is a plan to gherao the Municipal Corporation office in Shimla today. Hindu organizations say that Sukhu government is trying to cover up the Sanjauli Mosque dispute and if their demands are not met, a jail bharo movement will start after October 5.
'Wherever there are illegal mosques, they should be removed'
Hindu organizations are constantly demanding that wherever there are illegal mosques including Sanjauli, they should be removed. Apart from this, their movement is also going on demanding illegal infiltration and abolition of Waqf Board. Let us tell you that the Hindu side is constantly attacking about illegal mosques in Himachal. According to the data, there were 393 mosques in Himachal Pradesh in the year 2021 but now their number has increased to 520. Sirmaur district has the highest number of 130 mosques in Himachal Pradesh. Hindu organizations claim that most of these mosques are illegal.
The protest started in Shimla on 11 September
On September 11, Hindu organizations staged a massive protest in Shimla against the alleged illegal construction in Sanjauli Mosque. After this, protests started in other areas of Himachal Pradesh on the issue of infiltration, illegal construction of mosques and verification of outsiders. On September 13, people of Hindu society took to the streets in Mandi against illegal construction in the mosque. This wind reached Bilaspur on September 14 and Kullu on September 16. On September 19, a protest was held in Nerwa demanding action against illegal infiltration and then on September 21, the demand for abolition of Waqf Board was intensified in Sirmaur too.
