Gulf of Mexico name change US President Donald Trump has come into action mode after taking oath of office. The Trump government has now changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico. The Interior Department said that now it will be officially called the Gulf of America.

Trump's order also fulfills his election promise which he made in many of his rallies.

The name of this hill was also changed

Trump has not only renamed the Gulf of Mexico but also Alaska's peak Denali. According to the order, it has now been changed to Mount McKinley. US President Donald Trump ordered the renaming as part of a slew of executive actions just hours after taking office on Monday, fulfilling a promise made during his campaign.

Steps to preserve America's heritage

Let us tell you that the highest mountain in Alaska was earlier called Mount McKinley in honor of former US President William McKinley, but at the request of the state, its name was changed to Denali in 1975. It means 'tall' in the Koyukon indigenous language.

The department said the renaming was ordered to preserve America's extraordinary heritage and ensure that future generations of Americans will always remember their heroes and the legacy of historic properties.

Trump praised McKinley a lot during the swearing-in ceremony

Trump praised McKinley at his swearing-in ceremony on Monday. He said that McKinley was a Republican who became president from 1897 to 1901. He worked to make our country prosperous through tariffs and talent and at the same time he was a natural businessman who wanted to take the country forward.

Let us tell you that McKinley was the President of America in an expansionist era, which gained control over Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico. Hawaii later became a US state. While Trump can instruct the US Geological Survey to change how it represents the Gulf of Mexico. However, such a name change is unlikely to be recognized internationally.
