Gorakhpur's Jhangha police has been looking for this cunning psycho killer since the first incident. When a young woman died during the robbery, the police increased intensive search operations and patrolling. But this cunning man, who used to go barefoot wearing black clothes to escape the police, kept evading the police's eyes. Finally, with the help of the third eye i.e. CCTV cameras, the police arrested him. He has been identified as Ajay Nishad, 20-year-old son of Swaminath Nishad, a resident of Mangalpur Tola of Rajdhani village of Jhangha police station area of ​​Gorakhpur.

He went to jail in the 2022 rape case.
During interrogation, he has also confessed to the police about committing all the incidents. During interrogation, he told the police that he had gone to jail in a rape case in the year 2022. After this, after getting released on bail, he went to Surat. Returning from Surat, he started committing petty thefts in houses. Due to going to jail earlier on rape charges, hatred for women and girls made him a psycho killer. On the identification of the accused, the weapons used in the incident (bamboo stick, eucalyptus stick, iron rod, cot leg) were recovered from different places. The accused told that he has sold the jewellery looted by him.

According to SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover, after injuring the woman in the first incident, he started enjoying it and started targeting women and girls during every theft. In such a situation, catching this criminal had become a challenge for the police. The police laid a trap under the leadership of SP North Jitendra Kumar Shrivastava and arrested the criminal with the help of more than 70 CCTV cameras and revealed the five thefts and murderous attacks that took place in four months. The SSP said that ADG Zone Gorakhpur has announced a reward of one lakh rupees to the team that revealed this incident.
