Bengaluru. Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa appeared before the CID in connection with the POCSO case registered against him. The CID is questioning him in this case. He is accused of sexually assaulting a minor. The minor's mother had filed a complaint against him under the POCSO Act.
Before reaching the CID office, Yediyurappa said, "I am going to the CID now." He said he will have to face investigation in the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case against him for allegedly molesting a minor girl.
We have faith in the court'
The CID is investigating the case. Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra has also given a statement regarding this matter. He said, 'Regarding the new case against Yeddyurappa ji, we have faith in the court. He is going before the investigating agency today. Whatever he has to say, he will say it there. There is nothing to worry about. He will say everything before the SIT.'
Let us tell you that the High Court's order came after Yeddyurappa's letter to appear before the police on June 17. A day before this, a Bengaluru court on Thursday issued a non-bailable warrant against the former Chief Minister of Karnataka and directed his immediate arrest.
Targeted the state government
Before appearing before the CID, Yediyurappa had also strongly targeted the increase in petrol and diesel prices in the state. He said, 'The people of the state are already facing many problems. People are suffering from inflation. The state government's decision to increase the price of petrol and diesel is a crime. The state government should immediately withdraw its decision.'
