Now a company in India is working on an electric taxi and it will not be any ordinary taxi but this taxi will be a flying taxi in the air. Now work is also being done on the prototype in this regard.

Chennai-based startup ePlane is working on a flying electric taxi and is preparing to develop a certified prototype of the flying electric taxi by March next year. ePlane is working on ways to reduce urban congestion.

The company, incubated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, aims to commercialize its drones, which can carry a load of 2-6 kg, in the coming months, according to a senior official.

Satya Chakraborty, founder and CEO of ePlane company, said that the startup is developing an eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft. Initially, it will be a three or four-seater aircraft, which can be converted into an air ambulance.

“We hope to develop the first certified prototype by March next year,” Chakraborty said. After this, it will take a few more years to get certification from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).'' According to the startup's website, it will take just 14 minutes to reach a place by e-plane, whereas it takes 60 minutes to reach by private vehicle. The company aims to reduce congestion in urban areas through eVTOL.
