Jammu. Encounter in Doda: Two soldiers were injured in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda early Thursday, Army officials said.

The encounter took place in Jaddan Bata village of Kastigarh area

Officials said the encounter took place at around 2 am in Jaddan Bata village in Kastigarh area. During the search operation, the terrorists opened fire on a temporary security camp set up in a government school. The security forces retaliated and the firing continued between the two sides for more than an hour.

The encounter between terrorists and security forces is still going on

Officials said that two soldiers were slightly injured in the firing by terrorists. Efforts are still on to flush out the terrorists. On Monday and Tuesday night, terrorists killed four army personnel including a captain in the firing. After this, a massive search operation was launched in Desa and surrounding forest areas.

The operation lasted for four days

The operation entered the fourth day on Thursday and there was brief exchange of fire at two places in the forests of Desa on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Doda has been witnessing attacks since June 12 when six security personnel were injured in a terror attack at Chattergala Pass, followed by a gunfight at Gandoh the next day in which a policeman was injured.

Three militants were killed in a day-long operation in Gandoh area of ​​the district on June 26, while another encounter broke out in Ghadi Bhagwa forest on July 9. A total of 27 people, including 11 security personnel, a Village Defence Guard and five militants, have been killed in nearly a dozen terror attacks in six districts of Jammu since the beginning of this year. The dead also included seven pilgrims returning from Shiv Khori temple in Reasi district on June 9.
