New Delhi. When is Devshayani Ekadashi 2024: On the Ekadashi date of Krishna and Shukla Paksha of every month, Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi, the savior of the world, are worshipped. Along with this, fasting is also done to get auspicious results. It is a religious belief that by observing Ekadashi fast, all the sins committed by the devotee in his births are eliminated. Devshayani Ekadashi fast is observed in the month of Ashadh. Rules must be followed on this day.
What to do on Devshayani Ekadashi?
- On this day, after taking a bath in the morning , one should wear yellow clothes, because the Lord loves yellow colour.
- Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi should be worshipped.
- One should resolve to observe Ekadashi fast.
- Apart from this, money, grains, and clothes should be donated.
- Tulsi leaves must be included in the offering to the Lord.
What not to do on Devshayani Ekadashi?
- One should avoid eating non-vegetarian food on the day of Devshayani Ekadashi .
- Apart from this, stay away from consuming rice.
- Do not insult women and elders on the Ekadashi date.
- It is forbidden to pluck Tulsi leaves on Ekadashi.
- Do not keep wrong thoughts in your mind about anyone.
When is Devshayani Ekadashi 2024
According to the Panchang, the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month is starting on 16 July 2024 at 08:33 pm. At the same time, it will end on 17 July at 09:02 pm. In such a situation, this year Devshayani Ekadashi will be celebrated on 17 July 2024, Wednesday.
