Dehydration is a common problem that occurs when the body does not get enough water. What are the symptoms of dehydration?

  • Thirst - This is the most common symptom of dehydration. If you are drinking less water, then the body gives you signals to compensate for the lack of water in the body and you start feeling thirsty again and again. This is a signal that your body needs more liquid.

 

  • Dry mouth and lips- When there is less water in your body, your mouth and lips start drying. This is a common symptom, which you can easily notice and understand that dehydration has started in the body.
  • Fatigue and weakness – Dehydration also reduces the body’s energy, which can make you feel more tired and weak .
  • Dizziness- Due to dehydration, blood circulation gets affected, due to which dizziness can occur.
  • Less urination  - When you drink less water, your body gets less liquid to make urine. This can reduce the amount of urine you make. This can cause the urine to be more concentrated and can also cause problems like burning sensation while urinating.
  • Constipation- Dehydration can slow down digestion. Also, due to lack of water, the stool becomes dry and constipation can occur.
  • Dark urine color – When you’re dehydrated, your urine may take on a darker color, such as dark yellow or even brown.
  • Muscle cramps – Dehydration can cause an imbalance of electrolytes, which can lead to muscle cramps.
  • Fast heartbeat- Dehydration causes the blood circulation to slow down, which can cause your heart to beat faster.
