Ayodhya Crime News: Police recovered the naked body of a missing Scheduled Caste (SC) girl in Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, who was brutally murdered, her eyes were gouged out and there were many wounds on her body. Police have suspected that the girl was gang-raped and then killed.

Ayodhya's Police Circle Officer (CO) Ashutosh Tiwari said, "After receiving a complaint of the missing of a 22-year-old girl, the police registered an FIR on Friday. The girl's naked body was recovered on Saturday morning. The police is waiting for the post-mortem report, on the basis of which further action will be taken."

According to sources, the body was in a horrific condition, seeing which the elder sister of the deceased girl and two women of the village fainted. They told that the girl had left the house at 10 pm on Thursday saying that she was going to some religious event, but she did not return, after which the family members searched for her in the village.

Family's allegations against the police
According to sources, the family filed a missing report of the girl in Ayodhya police station on Friday. The family alleged that the police were merely doing a formality instead of actively searching for the girl. They told that on Saturday morning, the girl's brother-in-law found her body in a small canal half a kilometer away from the village. He informed the family about the body, after which a crowd gathered at the spot.

According to the family members, the girl's eyes were gouged out and many bones of her body were also found broken. They suspected that the girl was murdered after gang rape. The family members said that the girl's body was found naked, her eyes were gouged out, her hands and legs were tied with rope and there were serious injury marks on her face and skull. Police said that the matter is being investigated.
