Cyclone Remal is going to hit the Bay of Bengal this evening. Strong winds will blow due to the formation of 'deep depression' over the east-central Bay of Bengal. According to the IMD, it is likely to turn into a severe cyclonic storm (SCS) on Sunday midnight, which will pass between the Bangladesh and West Bengal coasts.The IMD Weather Forecast has issued a severe cyclonic storm warning, stating that the storm is likely to cause inundation in low-lying areas of coastal West Bengal and also landslides in coastal Bangladesh. 

Weather of Odisha and Bihar will change

According to the Meteorological Department, due to this storm in the Bay of Bengal, the weather will change in the adjacent states. Its effect will be seen mainly in Bihar and Odisha. People here will get relief from the heat, as a huge drop in temperature has been predicted.

There is a possibility of heavy rain on the coast of West Bengal due to the storm intensifying at midnight on 26 May. Along with this, heavy rains can also occur in Mizoram, Tripura and South Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.

Winds will blow at a speed of 135 km in Bangladesh

Cyclone Ramal will hit the coast of Bangladesh after hitting the coast of West Bengal. A severe cyclonic storm with wind speed of 110-120 to 135 kmph will cross Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts.

Center assured help to Bengal government

Power and telecommunication lines are also expected to be damaged due to the cyclone's fury. Meanwhile, a meeting of the National Crisis Management Committee chaired by Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba was held on Friday to review the preparations for the cyclone. The Cabinet Secretary assured the West Bengal government that all central agencies are on full alert and will be available for assistance.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 12 teams and five additional teams have been kept on standby. Rescue and relief teams of the Army, Navy and Coast Guard along with ships and aircraft have been kept ready.
