HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank were the biggest gainers in this rise. This surge in the market was seen with a positive trend in the shares. Last week, the BSE Sensex rose by 4,230.7 points or 5.77 percent, while the NSE Nifty rose by 1,337.5 points or 5.88 percent.
Ajit Mishra, SVP Research at Religare Broking, said market sentiment remained strong as hopes for a temporary ceasefire between the US and Iran remained strong. However, geopolitical uncertainties somewhat limited the upside. He also said that a sharp decline in crude oil prices below $100 eased domestic concerns and led to a strong market recovery.
