Devendra Yadav News: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav has strongly criticized the decision to increase the salary of MLAs in Delhi and called it a betrayal of the public. He said that this decision is the result of collusion between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Yadav alleged that at a time when the people of Delhi are struggling with inflation and unemployment, the decision to increase the salary of MLAs is against the interests of the people. He demanded immediate withdrawal of this decision.

Devendra Yadav said that the BJP government has chosen the path of increasing the salary of MLAs by cutting the budget of public welfare schemes such as education, water supply, sanitation, housing, urban development, energy, agriculture, rural development, irrigation and flood control. For example, the budget of water supply and sanitation projects has been reduced from 18 percent to 15 percent. He called it a misuse of public money.

Yadav also raised questions on the financial condition of the Delhi government. He said that the government is already burdened with a huge debt and in this budget, a new loan of Rs 15,000 crore has been announced. Apart from this, it has been decided to recover Rs 9,500 crore as tax, while Rs 420 crore has been cut in the budget for interest payment. This will further increase the burden of debt, which will be compensated by the tax of the public. Yadav termed it as "robbery on the pockets of the public".

He also revealed that the BJP had promised free gas cylinders to housewives on Holi and Diwali to provide relief from inflation, but no provision was made for this in the budget. Also, no steps were taken towards employment generation and the establishment and administrative budget was reduced from 49 percent to 41 percent. He also held the government responsible for the poor condition of institutions like Delhi Jal Board, DTC and DUSIB.
