UP News: Union Minister Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party has announced to field its candidates on two seats in the UP assembly by-elections. These two seats are Phulpur in Prayagraj and Majhwa in Mirzapur. Scheduled caste candidates will be fielded on both seats. Party's state president Rajiv Paswan says that our agreement with BJP is in the Center and Bihar, not in Uttar Pradesh.
Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has increased the tension of BJP by announcing to field candidates on two seats in the UP assembly by-election. According to the party's state president Rajiv Paswan, Lok Janshakti Party will not only contest on two seats, but will also ask its workers across the state to go and campaign on these two seats.
Rajiv Paswan says that on the remaining seven seats, party workers will come to Phulpur and Majhwa to campaign for their candidates instead of asking for votes for the BJP. He has also claimed that the party's national president and Union Minister Chirag Paswan will also come to campaign in these two seats.
Names of candidates sent to central leadership
State President Rajiv Paswan has told in a press conference that the state committee has sent a panel of three names each for candidates on Phulpur and Majhwa seats to the central leadership. All these names will be placed in the party's parliamentary board and only one name will be approved from there. He has claimed that the state unit has prepared it on the instructions of the central leadership and sent it to Delhi. According to him, the party had demanded two seats from BJP in the by-election, but the BJP high command is not ready to leave even a single seat.
Honoring the agreement with BJP at the center
State President Rajiv Paswan says that the party has a strong organization in Uttar Pradesh. Many people are associated with the party. Many of them wish to contest the elections. If the party does not contest the elections, the workers will go somewhere else. He says that the party will contest the elections on only two out of nine seats while respecting the agreement with BJP at the Center.
Claim made for 2027 assembly elections as well
He has also claimed that if BJP does not give respectable seats to our party in the 2027 assembly elections, then Lok Janshakti Party will field its candidates on at least 100 seats. He claims that we will not say anything against BJP on both the seats of the by-election, but will definitely ask for votes for our candidates. Our competition will be with the Samajwadi Party only.
