Opening Dates for Kedarnath and Badrinath

The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open on May 10, 2024, following the traditional rituals. Every year, the opening date of Kedarnath is declared on the occasion of Mahashivratri. The temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is situated in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand and remains closed during the winter months due to heavy snowfall.

Similarly, Badrinath Dham will open its doors on May 12, 2024. This temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is located in the Chamoli district and is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in India. The announcement of the opening date was made during an auspicious ceremony at the Narendranagar royal palace.

Preparations for the Yatra

With the dates finalized, the state government and temple authorities have started preparations to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage for devotees. Infrastructure improvements, road maintenance, and medical facilities are being enhanced along the yatra route.

Devotees planning to visit are advised to register in advance and check weather conditions before traveling. The yatra holds immense spiritual significance and attracts lakhs of pilgrims every year.

With the opening of the shrines, the divine journey to the Himalayas will begin, bringing spiritual bliss to devotees seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.
