Chaitra Navratri 2024: According to the Hindu calendar, Chaitra Navratri is starting on Tuesday, April 9. In the Hindu religion, Kalash is established before any religious ritual. During Navratri, after Ghatasthapana or installation of Kalash of Durga, the post of Mother Goddess is established and these goddesses are worshiped for 9 days. Kalash is considered a symbol of Lord Vishnu. 

Kalash is worshiped before worshiping Goddess Durga. During Navratri, 9 forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped with rituals. There are a total of 4 Navratri in a year in which Chaitra and Shardiya Navratri have great importance. It is believed that worshiping Mother Goddess during Navratri brings special blessings of Goddess Durga. Although Maa Durga's ride is a lion, but when she comes to earth, her ride changes, and this time Maa Durga will come to earth riding on a horse.

Chaitra Navratri Pujan Vidhi

Ghat means earthen pot. It is established on the first day of Navratri according to the auspicious time. Ghat should be installed in the northeast corner of the house. First, put some soil in the pot and then add barley. Then worship it. Clean the place where the Ghat is to be established and purify it by sprinkling Ganga water there once. After that spread a red cloth on a stool. 

Then install the picture or idol of Maa Durga. Now fill water in a copper urn and tie a red molly on its top. Put coin, Akshat, betel nut, pair of cloves, and Durva grass in that Kalash. Now place mango leaves on the Kalash and wrap the coconut with a red cloth. Keep fruits, sweets, and prasad around the Kalash. Then after completing the Kalash installation, worship the Mother Goddess.
