Police campaign against illegal Bangladeshi citizens is going on in various states of the country. In this sequence, a large number of illegal Bangladeshis have been arrested in Kerala. Kerala Police said on Friday that Ernakulam Rural Police and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have arrested 27 illegal Bangladeshi citizens from North Paravur area of ​​​​Ernakulam district. These Bangladeshis were living and working illegally in Kochi.

He was claiming to be from West Bengal

Information given by the Kerala Police officer has been that the arrested illegal Bangladeshi citizens were working at many places by claiming themselves to be migrant workers from West Bengal. Police has said that two weeks ago a 28-year-old woman named Taslima Begum was arrested. After that a special campaign named Operation Clean was started by the police. These arrests have been made under this campaign.

How were the intruders caught?

Actually, the police had received information about Bangladeshi citizens living in North Paravur. After this, a team of Ernakulam Rural Police conducted a search operation with the help of ATS. When the police checked the documents, it was found that these people were Bangladeshi citizens and were living illegally in India. They were claiming themselves to be Indian citizens. According to the police, detailed interrogation is being done with the arrested people.

 Crossed the border from West Bengal

Police have informed that the illegal Bangladeshis caught had crossed the border from West Bengal in India. They had obtained Aadhaar cards and other documents with the help of agents before coming to Kochi. These Bangladeshis were engaged in various works and some were living in labour camps. According to the police, this could be the biggest arrest of Bangladeshi citizens in the entire country. With this action, the number of illegal Bangladeshis caught in the month of January under Ernakulam Rural District Police Station area has reached 34. Police have said that they will expand their investigation to West Bengal to investigate the agents involved in illegally crossing the border and getting fake documents.
