Kanpur. Kalyanpur police on Sunday arrested a Bangladeshi girl along with her two female companions. The Bangladeshi girl had secretly crossed the border and came to India about six months ago and started living in Kanpur.

The police is questioning the girl as well as her associates to find out their motives for hiding. The three accused were presented in the court from where they were sent to jail. Operation Prabhat Prahari is being run in the Commissionerate these days to check suspicious persons and vehicles. Under the campaign, suspicious persons and vehicles are being checked at various places.

DCP West Vijay Dhul said that on Sunday the police received confidential information that a Bangladeshi girl is living with two female companions in Radhapuram, Kashyapnagar. Based on the information, the police detained the three who were waiting for a ride in front of Bara Sirohi canal bridge. It was understood during the conversation itself, because the girl was neither able to speak nor understand Hindi.

During police interrogation, she revealed her name as Najma

During interrogation, the 20-year-old girl told that her name is Nazma daughter of Mahfooz Ali, who is a resident of Suvila Fatiyabad Thana Devidar District Kumila, Bangladesh. She was living here as Pooja. The other two women who were with her were Reena wife of Bhola Prasad Kashyap, 24 Pargana Thana Nahati, Kolkata and Jyoti Nishad wife of Vinay, Bhogal Nizamuddin Rajdoot Hotel opposite Thana Nizamuddin New Delhi.

During interrogation, Nazma told that she had crossed the border and come to India about six months ago. She reached Kanpur while hiding and started living here. She does not have any documents related to her identity. However, she easily accepted that she is a Bangladeshi citizen. Police has started investigation by registering a case under the Foreigners Act.

ACP Kalyanpur Abhishek Kumar said that the police have recovered a PAN card, ID card, PNB ATM card, two silver rings and five mobile phones from them.
