Baghpat News: Baghpat police has tightened the noose on Sanjo alias Khalla, a woman involved in the business of ganja smuggling, and has sealed three houses while confiscating her property worth Rs 38 lakh. The ganja smuggler used to bring ganja from Orissa and supply it in Baghpat and nearby districts. She used to run a gang to do the drug business. There were more than seven members in her gang. Police say that five cases are registered against Sanjo in Barot police station and she is out of jail on bail these days and is being monitored.

 

This evening, CO Barot Vijay Chaudhary, Tehsildar Rajesh Kumar and Inspector Manoj Kumar Chahal reached Pathankot and Savakhedi with a large police force. Two houses in Pathankot and one in Savakhedi were confiscated and sealed. A tenant was living in a house in Pathankot. His belongings were taken out. The cost of all three houses is estimated to be around Rs 38 lakh. During this time, Sanjo was not found at her house. During the action, female police personnel were also present. There was a crowd of people as well.

 

There are five cases against the ganja smuggler


Sanjo alias Khalla, wife of Wakil, resident of Pathankot Mohalla of Baraut city, has been involved in the ganja smuggling business for a long time. She used to smuggle ganja from Orissa and supply it in Bagpat and other districts. Sameer, Farman and Haroon used to assist her in this business. Five cases are registered against Sanjo in Baraut police station, which include cases of assault, attempted murder, Gangster Act and two NDPS cases. By smuggling ganja, she earned property worth lakhs of rupees, which she invested in her houses.

 

In this regard, Baraut CO said that the main accused of gangsterism, Sanjo alias Khalla, is a resident of Street Number Six, Pathankot, Gurana Road, who earned money in an unfair manner by indulging in criminal acts and anti-social activities and invested it in the reconstruction and beautification of houses. On the instructions of the DM, this action has been taken under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act. Banners related to the action have been put up on all three houses. Sanjo is out of jail these days and is being monitored.
