Chhath Puja Holiday:On the occasion of Chhath Puja 2024, many states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi and West Bengal will remain closed on November 7 and 8. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), both November 7 and 8 have been declared as bank holidays in some states for Chhath Puja. Apart from this, banks will also remain closed on November 9 (second Saturday) and November 10 (Sunday). In Delhi, Chief Minister Atishi has declared a public holiday on November 7 for Chhath Puja. However, digital banking options including UPI payments, net banking and ATM services will continue as usual. Customers can carry out necessary transactions during the holiday period. The full list of bank holidays designated by the RBI is available on its official website, allowing customers to confirm the status of their local branches in November 2024.

 

November 7 (Thursday):Banks will remain closed in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal for the "Evening Arghya" ceremony of Chhath Puja.

November 8 (Friday):Banks will again remain closed for "Morning Arghya" of Chhath Puja in Bihar, Jharkhand and Meghalaya and Wangala Festival in Meghalaya.
