China warned the United States on Sunday that it was playing with fire after announcements of new arms sales and aid to Taiwan, which U.S. President Joe Biden on Saturday authorized the provision of up to $571 million for the country.
America should stop supplying weapons to Taiwan
The Defense Department said that the sale of military equipment worth $295 million has been approved. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has appealed to the US to stop supplying arms to Taiwan. Taiwan is a democratic island on which China has been claiming its rights.
That's why America is helping
The US arms sales and assistance are aimed at helping Taiwan defend itself and deter China from attack. The military hardware sales include $265 million for 300 tactical radio systems and $30 million for 16 gun mounts.
Taiwan welcomed
Taiwan's Foreign Ministry welcomed the approval of the sale, saying it reaffirms the US government's commitment to our defense.
