- If your nails have become too white, it can be a sign of anemia, lack of nutrition or liver disease. If the entire nail appears white and the edges are dark, it is called Terry's Nails, which is seen in liver failure, kidney problems or heart disease.
- Sometimes nails turn yellow due to nail polish or fungal infection. But if their color is constantly yellow then it can be a sign of thyroid, diabetes or respiratory diseases. In yellow nail syndrome, nails become thick, yellow and grow slowly. Which can be associated with lymphatic or lung disease.
- The formation of diagonal lines on the nails is called Beau's lines. These can appear after any disease, injury or excessive stress. They also indicate high fever, diabetes or lack of zinc in the body.
- If the nails of the fingers bend or become soft and spongy, it is called clubbing. This is a sign of continuous lack of oxygen in the body . It can also be seen in problems like lung disease, heart disease or intestinal inflammation.
