Aligarh News Today: Aligarh Police has taken a new initiative to promote traffic safety and reduce road accidents in dense fog. Under the Traffic Month, an awareness program was organized at Tasveer Mahal intersection located in Civil Lines area of ​​Aligarh. 

During this campaign, the police distributed helmets to two-wheeler riders and told them about the importance of driving safely on the road. This initiative was led by SP Traffic, who along with the Traffic Inspector (TI) and his team is working to make this campaign a success. 

Special message in traffic month
This campaign was not only focused on two-wheeler drivers, but special guidelines were also given for big vehicles. On this occasion, the traffic police put reflector tape on big vehicles. This program started at 10 am at Tasveer Mahal intersection. 

SP Traffic while inaugurating the program motivated the public to follow traffic rules. He said that hundreds of people lose their lives in road accidents every year and in most of these cases, ignorance of traffic rules is a major reason.

Traffic police distributed 200 helmets
Helmet distribution among two-wheeler riders was the main attraction of the programme. During the programme, the traffic police distributed more than 200 helmets and asked the riders to ensure that they always wear helmets. 

Rohit Sharma, a young motorcyclist who participated in this program, said that "I had never bought a helmet before because I did not feel the need for it. But today I realized how important a helmet is for my safety."

Importance of Reflector Tape
During the programme, owners and drivers of large vehicles were informed about the importance of reflector tape. This tape makes vehicles easily identifiable at night and helps prevent accidents. 

Reflector tapes are installed to make the vehicle clearly visible in fog. Reflector tape is a cheap and effective device in traffic. It is very important for both small and big vehicles, especially in low light areas, it shines clearly and makes it easy to spot vehicles. 

Small negligence can cause big accidents.
SP Traffic stressed on the importance of road safety and said that it is the duty of every citizen to follow traffic rules. He said that our small negligence on the road can cause big accidents. He gave many important messages through this program.

in which always wear helmet: This should be a mandatory rule for four-wheeler drivers.
Use seat belt: Seat belt for four-wheeler drivers can reduce injuries in accidents.
Do not drive after drinking alcohol: This is a big danger on the road. 
Check vehicles regularly: Keep checking brakes, lights and other important equipment from time to time.
Follow traffic signals: Breaking signals not only leads to fines but also causes accidents.
