Patna.  In the sixth phase of Lok Sabha Election 2024, voting will be held simultaneously on Saturday for eight seats in Bihar. Half a dozen of these seats are adjacent to the border of Nepal and Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, vigilance has been increased on the border of Nepal and Uttar Pradesh.
More than 60 thousand security forces have been deployed in this phase. Apart from this, more than 18 thousand home guards have also been deployed on election duty. After the election violence in Chhapra, special vigilance is being maintained in Maharajganj.Internet media is also being closely monitored in the concerned districts from the level of Police Headquarters. Social Media Monitoring Unit is monitoring the news, Facebook posts and YouTube videos etc. circulating on Internet media. Any kind of objectionable post, misleading news has been removed immediately and legal action has been directed against the concerned.

According to the police headquarters, special security arrangements have been made for the sixth phase of elections. Armed security forces have been deployed at all booths. So far, simultaneous voting has taken place on four seats in the first phase and five seats in the other four phases. This time the challenge for the police administration is even greater because voting is taking place simultaneously in almost double the area.

While Valmikinagar, West Champaran and Shivhar Lok Sabha seats share their border with Nepal, Valmikinagar, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan and Maharajganj Lok Sabha constituencies share their border with the neighbouring state of Uttar Pradesh.

Voting will also take place in Vaishali and East Champaran

Apart from this, voting is also to be held in Vaishali and East Champaran Lok Sabha constituencies. SSB jawans have been deployed on the Nepal border. Additional checkposts have also been set up on the border. Joint patrolling is also being done with the Nepalese security forces. Apart from this, additional interstate and interdistrict checkposts have also been set up for voting and special checking of vehicles is being done.

To ensure peaceful voting, the police administration has arranged for horse mounted police in remote areas and boat surveillance in river areas. Apart from this, surveillance will also be done through drones. Satellite phones, bomb disposal squads and wireless sets have also been provided to the security forces. Instructions have been given to deal strictly with those who create any kind of hindrance in voting.
