Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dip in the Triveni Sangam on Wednesday and said that "I got immense peace and satisfaction by receiving the blessings of Maa Ganga." While bathing in the Sangam amid chanting of Vedic mantras, the Prime Minister was seen wearing a full-sleeved saffron kurta and blue pyjamas. He also chanted with a Rudraksha rosary. He also had a Rudraksha rosary around his neck. He anointed the Ganga with milk and performed aarti by offering a garland of flowers. After this, the priests applied sandalwood tilak on the Prime Minister's forehead and made him sip Ganga water. After bathing in the Sangam, Prime Minister Modi performed worship with full rituals. Wearing a black kurta and saffron sash and Himachali cap, Prime Minister Modi offered akshat, naivedya, flowers, fruits and red chunari at the Triveni Sangam amid Vedic mantras and shlokas. After this, the Prime Minister performed aarti of the three rivers at the Sangam site.

In a post on 'X', the Prime Minister said, "Today, I got the great fortune of performing Puja-Archana after bathing in the holy Sangam in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. I have got immense peace and satisfaction in my mind after getting the blessings of Maa Ganga. I prayed to her for the happiness, prosperity, health and well-being of all the countrymen. Har Har Gange!" In his post, the Prime Minister also shared his pictures of taking a dip in the Sangam, offering Arghya to Sun God, saluting Ganga and chanting Rudraksha beads. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also posted on 'X' and said, "Today, in the Mahayagya of India's unity, Maha Kumbh 2025, Prayagraj, the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji took a holy bath in the holy Triveni Sangam and received the blessings of Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna, Maa Saraswati. Har Har Gange." 

UP government issued statement

According to a statement issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Prayagraj airport in the morning, from where he boarded a 'MI 17' helicopter and landed at the DPS helipad. Here, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed and greeted him. From here, the Prime Minister reached Arail Ghat, from where he boarded a special boat and headed towards Triveni Sangam." It was said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present with him on the boat, who during this time informed him about the arrangements made in the Maha Kumbh and the facilities being provided to the devotees. During the boat tour, the Prime Minister also accepted the greetings of the devotees present at the Triveni Sangam. Officials said, "Special care has been taken during the Prime Minister's visit that the devotees do not face any inconvenience. Therefore, security protocols have been made mandatory only in some areas and devotees are bathing at other ghats."
