Delhi Assembly Election 2025: Aam Aadmi Party held a massive protest against BJP all over Delhi, accusing it of insulting the people of Purvanchal community living in Delhi. As per the pre-announced program, workers and people of Purvanchal community, under the leadership of AAP leaders, protested at various places in all the assemblies and raised slogans against BJP and also burnt effigies at many places.

Senior AAP leader and MP Sanjay Singh said that BJP's national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala abused a leader from Purvanchal on a national channel. The whole country and the world heard it.

BJP leaders sometimes call the people of Purvanchal Bangladeshi and sometimes Rohingya. They abuse them on TV. The people of Delhi have to take revenge for that abuse with the power of their vote. On the other hand, AAP MLA Rituraj Jha said that today protests took place in every assembly of Delhi. During this, some people burnt effigies. We are getting lakhs of phone calls. BJP's national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala abused me on live television only because I come from the Maithili-Brahmin community of Purvanchal.

'BJP should take action against them'
People of Delhi and the country know very well the conduct of BJP that they are anti-Purvanchal. It is their nature to abuse and insult. There have been massive protests against this in Delhi today. Rituraj Jha said that there have been protests against BJP in Mithila region of Bihar as well. BJP leader Manoj Tiwari released the video, but spoke in a roundabout way. He should apologize publicly. BJP should take action against Shahzad Poonawala by removing him from the post of spokesperson.

'Fierce attack on BJP'
There is a lot of anger in Maithili-Brahmin society about this. If BJP does not take any action, then on 5 February, the entire Purvanchal society will give it a befitting reply. And with the blow of their votes, they will defeat BJP and bring Arvind Kejriwal back to Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party workers fiercely attacked BJP by protesting at various places across Delhi. During this, effigies were also burnt at many places. During this, the workers raised slogans 'We will not tolerate this insult of Purvanchalis' and said that BJP should apologize to the entire Purvanchal society for this insult.

'Protests were held in several assembly constituencies'
During this time, protests were held in several assembly constituencies of Delhi including Shalimar Bagh, Wazirpur, Model Town, Jangpura, Okhla, Patparganj, Trilokpuri, Shahdara, Delhi Cantt, Karol Bagh, Moti Nagar, Patel Nagar, Greater Kailash, Kasturba Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Babarpur, Mustafabad, Rohtas Nagar, Seelampur, Seemapuri, Burari, Ghoda, Gokalpur, Karawal Nagar, Timarpur, Bawana, Mangolpuri, Badli, Mundka, Rithala, Ambedkar Nagar, Bijwasan, Chhatarpur, Mehrauli, Palam, Badarpur, Deoli, Kalkaji, Sangam Vihar, Tughlakabad, Dwarka, Matiala, Najafgarh, Uttam Nagar, Vikaspuri, Hari Nagar, Janakpuri, Madipur, Rajouri Garden and Tilak Nagar.
