- Darkening of the skin: Darkening of the skin around the neck, armpits, or groin (acanthosis nigricans) can be a sign of insulin resistance.
- Increased hair growth: Unwanted hair on the face, chest or back (hirsutism) can be caused by hormonal imbalance. If you suddenly notice abnormal hair growth, consult a doctor immediately.
- Thinning hair: Thinning scalp hair or hair loss can also be a sign of hormonal changes related to PCOS.
- Difficulty in conceiving: Due to irregular ovulation, PCOS is a major cause of infertility. In such a situation, if you are trying to conceive, then consult a doctor.
- Mood swings and fatigue: The hormonal imbalance caused by PCOS can lead to mood swings, anxiety, depression, and persistent fatigue.
- Weight gain or difficulty losing weight: Many women with PCOS have weight problems, especially around the belly. It is also very difficult for these people to lose weight.
