
Muzaffarpur Fire Broke Out: Four children died in a massive fire in the Mahadalit colony in Rampur Mani village of Bariyarpur police station area of Muzaffarpur on Wednesday (April 16) while more than 15 children are reported missing. Union Minister Chirag Paswan has expressed grief over this incident. However, Chirag Paswan has said in his X post that the death toll is five. The DM has confirmed four.
Chirag Paswan has taken a big step and decided to leave his pre-scheduled programs and reach Muzaffarpur as soon as possible to gather information about this tragic incident. He has posted on Instagram, "5 people, including many innocent children, have died tragically due to a fire in the Mahadalit colony of Rampur Mani village in Bariyarpur police station area of Muzaffarpur. More than 15 children are missing and more than 50 houses have been reduced to ashes. This is not just an accident, it is a living tragedy."
Instructions for immediate relief
Chirag Paswan further writes in his post, "I express my deepest condolences to the families of the deceased for the Muzaffarpur fire incident. Party workers have been instructed to provide immediate relief to the affected families. My party will monitor the relief work at the local level and will cooperate in providing all possible help in the rehabilitation of the victims. Also, I demand compensation to the families of the deceased, better treatment to the injured and a high-level investigation of the incident from the Bihar government."
The deceased include Anshika Kumari (5 years), Beauty Kumari (8 years), Srishti Kumari (6 years) and Vipul Kumar (10 years). Three of these children belong to the same family. The incident took place in Rampur Mani village of Bariyarpur police station area. The DM has confirmed the deaths. DM Subrata Kumar Sen said that the zonal officer has been sent to the spot.
The cause of the fire is said to be the cylinder explosion. After the cylinder explosion, many houses caught fire. People tried to extinguish the fire themselves but could not control it. Many fire engines reached the spot. Many children and people got trapped in the house due to the fire. The DM has said that the fire started due to the explosion of a domestic gas cylinder. The families of the deceased will be given a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each. The damage is being assessed.
