Elephant attacked CEO with its teeth
According to the Daily Mail, an attempt was being made to drive a herd of elephants away from tourist accommodations. Then, the effort went awry and a large elephant attacked the millionaire CEO.
The elephant reportedly hit Francois Christian Conradie with its tusks and trampled him multiple times, with nearby rangers unable to save him despite their best efforts.
He had a deep affection for elephants
Conradi also owned a Calyx Group sports management company. Employees said he had a deep love for elephants and nature and often went to forests and reserves to take photographs of them. He had degrees in zoology, animal studies, commerce and marketing.
A Gondwana official said his company's employees had been warned not to say anything about Conradi's accident or they would be fired the same day.
Conrady relied heavily on elephants
An official from the reserve said that it was a great experience working with the CEO and he loved elephants very much. He said that he thought elephants were calm and trustworthy, but you should never forget that they are wild, no matter which reserve they live in.
