Australia expelled two Indian spies from the country in 2020. He was accused of stealing intelligence information related to the country's security. The allegation was that they were trying to steal information related to Australia's intelligence defense projects and airport security.

Reports in The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald have claimed that two Indians were expelled from the country in this case. But India has not responded to these reports. The ABC report claimed that Indian spies were expelled from Australia after they were caught stealing intelligence documents related to the country's defense projects and airport security. These spies were also stealing intelligence related to Australia's trade relations.

Let us tell you that the Australia Security Intelligence Organization (ASIO) had busted a group of so-called foreign spies in 2020. These spies were also closely monitoring the Indians living in Australia and were busy building relationships with the current and former leaders of the country.

These claims are being made in Australian newspapers after the Washington Post report, which said that an officer of the Indian intelligence agency RAW was involved in the conspiracy to murder Sikh extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu on American soil last year. On this, India had said on Tuesday that the Washington Post has made unproven allegations on such a serious matter.

It was also said in the Washington Post report that two RAW officials were also expelled from Australia in 2020. The ABC report said that ASIO Director General Mike Burgess had admitted for the first time in 2021 that the spy group had been exposed but at that time he did not say which country was behind this activity.

Burgess had said in his report that the spies selectively developed close ties with the country's leaders, a foreign embassy and the State Police Service. He monitored the foreign citizens living in Australia. He tried to obtain intelligence about Australia's trade relations.
