News Topical, Digital Desk : An Australian company that monitors the internet has accused YouTube and several other social media platforms of promoting sexual content involving children. They say that when YouTube was questioned on this, no response came from their side. YouTube has turned a blind eye in this matter.

In a report released on Wednesday in Australia, the e-Safety Commissioner said that multiple complaints were made to Apple and YouTube regarding child sexual abuse content, but they did not respond to it.

Last week, Australia became the first country in the world to ban YouTube for children. The Australian government took this decision after advice from e-safety. According to Julie Inman Grant, commissioner of e-safety,

If these companies are left free, they ignore even sensitive content related to children. It seems as if they completely turn a blind eye to child sexual abuse.

Google-Meta did not live up to its promises 

Let us tell you that companies like Google and Meta have also claimed to ban child sexual abuse. Google had already made it clear that they identify such things and remove them immediately. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and Threads, had also announced a ban on such graphic videos.

 

Australia issued notice

Australia's e-safety commissioner has sent notices to Apple, Meta, Google, Discord, Microsoft, Skype, WhatsApp and Snapchat. All these companies will have to submit a report on the steps taken against child sexual abuse.
