News Topical, Digital Desk : In the history of the United States, no woman has ever been elected president. While countries from Japan to Italy are making headlines this year by appointing women to the highest office, the United States remains lagging behind.

This raises the question: Is America ready for a female president? When asked the same question to Michelle Obama, wife of former President Barack Obama, she said, "Not yet."

What did Michelle Obama say?

He said the country is still not ready for a female president and America still has a lot to learn. "As we saw in the last election, sadly, we are not ready," Obama said. “So I'm saying, don't even look at me about running, because you're all lying. You're not ready for a woman. Absolutely not.”

Kamala Harris contested the election in 2024

Michelle made the comments during a conversation on the Brooklyn Academy of Music podcast on November 5. She has repeatedly said she doesn't want to move to the Oval Office, which President Donald Trump defeated in the 2024 presidential election against former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Michelle campaigned for Harris.

Obama campaigned for Harris in the 2024 election campaign, drawing large crowds at campaign events, advocating for women's health care and urging men to vote for Harris.
