Also, eating late at night also increases insulin levels, which increases the risk of diabetes.

 

Therefore, eat light and easily digestible food 2-3 hours before sleeping. Even if you feel hungry at night, eat healthy snacks, like banana or makhana.

 

Using a phone or laptop before going to bed

Nowadays most people check social media or watch movies on mobile phones or laptops before going to sleep. But the blue light emitted from these devices confuses our brain that it is not time to sleep yet. This light reduces the production of melatonin hormone, which causes insomnia .

 

Therefore, stop using the phone and laptop at least 1 hour before sleeping. If necessary, use night mode or blue light filter.

 

drinking caffeine in the evening or at night

The caffeine present in tea and coffee gives us instant energy, but it also drives away sleep. If you drink tea and coffee in the evening or at night, it can spoil the quality of your sleep. The effect of caffeine lasts for 4-6 hours, which can cause the problem of staying awake for a long time.

 

Therefore, avoid drinking coffee or tea after noon. If you have to drink tea, drink green tea or herbal tea, which has less caffeine. You can drink hot milk or turmeric milk at night, it helps in inducing sleep.

 

Taking too much stress before sleeping

Stress and anxiety are the biggest enemies of sleep. If you get stressed about something before sleeping, it releases the hormone cortisol, which disturbs sleep. Staying stressed for a long time can also harm the digestive system and increase the problem of insomnia.
