News Topical, Digital Desk : The situation in Bangladesh has been steadily deteriorating since the death of student leader Sharif Osman. Minority communities have been targeted by violent protesters. Sharif Osman's brother has described this as a ploy by the Yunus government
Usman's brother accused Yunus's interim government of hatching a conspiracy to spoil the atmosphere of the country before the general elections to be held in February.
Osman Hadi's brother's allegation
Sharif Omar Hadi, Osman Hadi's brother, joined the protesters in Dhaka's Shahbag. He said, “Osman didn't bow down to anyone. You killed Osman Hadi, and now you're trying to delay the elections by making it an issue.”
Yunus warns the government
Taking aim at former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Omar Hadi said, "Action should be taken against the murderer as soon as possible so that the elections are not affected. However, no action has been taken by the government yet. If Osman Hadi does not get justice, you too will one day be forced to flee Bangladesh."
What is the whole matter?
Sharif Osman Hadi was the spokesperson for the Inquilab Mosque, which was formed after the 2024 coup against Sheikh Hasina's government. On December 12, Sharif was shot in the head by bike-borne assailants in Dhaka. Sharif was immediately airlifted to Singapore, where he died on December 18 while undergoing treatment.
Sharif's death has sparked violence in Bangladesh, with violent protesters setting several buildings, including a newspaper, on fire.
